The Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor was chartered on June 14, 1950 on the island of Oahu, Hawai`i, USA. The club is one of over 50 clubs in Rotary International District 5000. Rotary’s mission is to provide service to other, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
At the Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor, we strive to bring value to our members and be a support for our community.
The Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor was born as a provisional Rotary Club on May 21, 1950, through the foresight and hard work of three pioneers: David Moncrief, Jr., Harry Field, and James Orrick. David and Harry were members of the Rotary Club of Honolulu and employed in executive and administrative capacities at the Hawaiian Electric Company main office in Honolulu, and James was a Manager of the Ewa Plantation Company and a member of the Rotary Club of Wahiawa-Waialua.
Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our club works with the community to:
- Promote peace
- Fight disease
- Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Save mothers and children
- Support education
- Growl local economies
- Protect the environment
