On Monday April 15 we had three Radford High School Students of the Quarter (SOQ) who were introduced by Bob Frija. Our speaker was Dan Dinell - Tree’s for Honolulu’s Future - a non-profit that connects people to resources to create a better future. He spoke about the importance of trees for our canopy and overall biosphere. “Honolulu is Hot, Trees are Cool.” Dan’s goal is three-fold: Educate, Advocate, and Facilitate. Honolulu is losing valuable tree canopy and therefore heat is increasing. Dan suggests several ways for mitigation: 1. Plant a Tree, 2. Ask City to plant it for you (duf@honolulu.gov), and 3.
