Imagine Rotary

Aloha and welcome to the Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor! We find great value in service to our community, fellowship, and connection to Rotary around the world.

“Together We Can” is DG Randy Hart’s theme for the new Rotary year in Hawaii. The 2022-2023 Rotary International theme is “Imagine Rotary”.  Imagine what you could do as a member of Rotary to make our community, and the world, a better place.

The Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor is one of 53 Rotary clubs in the 50th State and part of District 5000. Rotary started in Hawaii in 1915. The Pearl Harbor club was chartered on June 14, 1950, and we are celebrating our 72nd birthday!

Since 1985, we have supported Rotary International’s Polio Plus to eradicate polio from the world; and “we are this close” to ending polio forever. For 15 years, our food drive “YES I CAN” project has resulted in weekly food donations for the Hawaii Food Bank.

In perpetuating the ideals of peace through Rotary, we are celebrating 39 years of Sister Club Affiliation with the Hiroshima Tonan (Southeast) Rotary Club. This is one of the cornerstones of our Rotary Club activities — our sister club relationship — which has promoted global understanding for many years and will continue far into the future.

For literacy, we have adopted Aiea Elementary School and sponsor several projects – their Literacy Club Program, Backpack Project, Dictionary Project, Families and Children Read to Each Other, and Dr. Seuss Read Aloud.

Our participation in District 5000’s Dictionary Project provides over 1000 dictionaries to third graders in the Pearl Harbor area. We sponsor Interact Clubs at Moanalua and Radford High Schools and involve their members in service projects and Rotary leadership programs.

We sponsor and participate in Rotary youth programs – we provide scholarships for high school seniors. The Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation provides an annual $5000 scholarship to our nominee, and the club provides other scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Our club provides annual scholarships of up to an additional $12,000 thanks to the generous contributions of our members.  We also assist with the Youth Leadership Conference, and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).

If you would like to learn more about Rotary and our club, please call or email us!

Aloha!
